If you've just discovered the SFSFW via this web site, now's the time to subscribe. If your membership expires after the current Ragnrarok issue, now's the time to run to the post box with your resubscription.
Why? Because, for the next year, all new members will receive a free copy of Lead Free, a book of addictive mini-games written by Matthew Hartley. So will resubscribers - provided that, after the last issue of your previous membership year, we receive your resubscription before the next Rag is ready to post. But if you leave it any later, you'll miss out.
The reason? Partly because Matthew's doctors told us that, if we didn't relieve the pressure of his fevered imaginings, his head would explode. But mostly because the very slow resubscriptions after Ragnarok 39 caused us a cash-flow problem that almost saw us cut back to four issues a year.
